Fluoride Treatment

How does Fluoride Help Your Smile Stay Healthy?

Fluoride Treatment at Hamilton Dental

The reality is that the foods you eat create bacteria that live on your teeth. This bacteria in turn produces an acid that causes the enamel, calcium, and phosphate to be stripped away from your teeth. This is why your saliva is so important because if you’re drinking water and using a fluoridated toothpaste, it helps to wash away some of the bacteria on your teeth. For this very reason the calcium and phosphate will help keep your teeth strong. In fact studies by the Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada haven’t found a link between water fluoridation and cancer.

With the use of fluoride there are many advantages, namely there are a host of advantages, such as that it exists in virtually all water supplies and it is an important mineral for healthy teeth. Moreover, dentistry it is used to rebuild lost tooth enamel and reverse early decay while also reducing the loss of minerals from teeth.

It is for this reason that we recognise the continued use of foods high in fluoride, namely tea, shrimp, red wine, white wine, coffee, potatoes, raisins, spinach and a host of other foods.
